Winemaker Notes
We always enjoy crafting our blends like Five Forks and Foothills. Over several vintages, we have noticed that Foothills inherently embraces classical Virginia vintages, and even in riper years, we find ourselves blending towards bright aromatics and a refreshing palate. This vintage of Foothills sees a greater role for Cabernet Franc, while still being grounded in Merlot and Petit Verdot. We have found that a small touch of Tannat has a unique place in many of our wines and the 2024 Foothills shows just that, providing an important accent of diverse aromatics and weight.
