Collector wood box includes 1 bottle each of 2015, 2017, 2019 vintage RISE.
BLEND: 57% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 14% Petit Verdot, 14% Tannat
TASTING NOTES: Layers and layers on the nose- the dark plum fruits and wild blackberry notes are accented with subtle shiitake and forest floor aromas and a hint of mint. Sandalwood spice has integrated in the deep, persistent fruit character. The tannins are velvet soft though still dense and persistent.
VINEYARD: Quaker Run vineyard is the heart of RISE in 2015 & 2017- it's old vine Merlot brings the lush core, while a combination of Petit Verdot & Tannat from the same site adds structure.
AGING / CELLARING: Aged 18 months in French barrique (50% new). At the start of its aging curve (in 2022) and will continue to develop and drink well until 2030.
BLEND: 62% Merlot, 19% Petit Verdot, 12% Tannat, 6% Cabernet Franc, 1% Cabernet Sauvignon
TASTING NOTES: The fruits are deep and dark with Damson plum and wild berries accented by fresh mint, cedar and wood spice. On the palate, the tannin is still quite firm, though polished and refined.
AGING / CELLARING: Aged 18 months in French barrique (50% new).
Aeration recommended for 1-2 hours prior to service. Will develop and drink well from 2022-2033 if properly cellared.
BLEND: 57% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 14% Petit Verdot, 11% Tannat
TASTING NOTES: The nose is still shy, but with time in the glass, opens to an explosion of blackberry fruit with lush plum and subtle wild herbs. On the palate the flavors echo the aromas; structured and layered with ample and persistent tannin.
VINEYARD: In 2019 two additional high-elevation vineyards join the cépage, Russ Mountain in Bluemont and Capstone in Linden. Quaker Run continues as the heart of Rise with the lush texture of Russ and the refined structure of Capstone painting a complete and complex picture.
AGING / CELLARING: Aged 20 months in French barrique (55% new) and 18 months in bottle prior to release. Aeration recommended for 3-4 hours prior to service.
Should develop and drink well from 2022-2035 if properly cellared.
